28th October,2015 Noida:  mElimu’s co-founder and managing director Mr. Damnish Kumar spoke at the prestigious Global Learn Tech Conference & Awards (held from 23rd to 24th July, 2015). mElimu – the Digital University-in-a-Box platform aims to cast away the issues related to affordability and accessibility of education across the nation.

Global Learn Tech Conference & Awards hosted the event and its goal was ‘to create more engaging and effective learning experiences’. The focus involved providing wide exposure to modern education tools and technologies, share strategies, encourage partnerships & networking, and much more. For mElimu, it was an ideal platform to showcase itself and talk about its benefits and how it can foster in the Indian market.

Damnish, a pivotal person behind mElimu spoke on “Skilling India using mobile technologies”. He emphasized on the boom of mobile technologies and tools and how it is highly beneficial for the overall growth. Damnish Kumar, is the co-founder, and managing director of mElimu Edutech Private. With over 15 years of work experience, he has carved a niche in the software product development sector. He has been working to bring the software solution to every potential person in the emerging market.

He shared, “Mobile technology is a pivotal tool to implement the change we want to see. Looking at the nationwide push on skill development, technology is the best fit way. mElimu is here to work in the same section and uplift the potential power house of skills we have in the country.  Looking at the considerable mobile penetration in India, we presume that mobile is a medium to increase the availability, accessibility and affordability of education and skill development.”

He anchored the session and put his points on learning and development across the audience. The large audience comprised people from corporates, esteemed institutions, colleges and universities. This was a much needed platform to address on issues related to skill development and how mobile technology can help. Majorly, the session targeted on:

  1. Increasing the capacity to address the demand and offer an affordable education to young
  2. Improving the standards of education while exploiting the existing resources

In past, mElimu has worked for emerging economies such as Africa. It has already handled projects of YALI, Kenyatta University, and The Catholic University of Eastern Africa. In India, it has assisted Rameesh Group of Institutions and DS technology and Management Institute. In the same order, mElimu looks forward to venture deeply into the market and help the developing economy get some fuel.

Damnish strongly focused on mElimu’s beneficial integrated full-cycle of learning management and its features like admission monitoring, teacher authoring tools, Digital CVs Competency matrix, Alumni connect etc. He said, “Looking at the fact that we have to increase the workforce with formal skills from 12% to 25% by end of Twelfth five year plan, we have to work now. Our mElimu solution is a reflection of mobile impact on current education scenario and we wish to extend it in the most advanced manner.”
